Yachtclub Luzern Wins Swiss J/70 Challenge League Act IV

2026 0903 J70 Swiss Women Davos 04

(Bielersee, Switzerland)- The Swiss J/70 Challenge League gathered in Wingreis on Lake Bielersee for the fourth and final Act of the 2026 season. The wind made for a challenging weekend. On Friday, very light conditions allowed only a few races. Unfortunately, the wind disappeared completely for the rest of the weekend, and no further racing was possible on Saturday or Sunday.

With Friday’s results standing, the Yacht Club Luzern team, skippered by David Erisman and crewed by Mathias Bermejo, Roland Kunz, Samuel Rigert, and Erich Bulholzer, won the final Act. Next, the Segler-Vereinigung Thalwil team took silver, with Edgar Westerhuijs on helm and crew of Simona Hegl, Moira Hegl, Paul Rusterholz, and Giulia Corbelli. Then, the Société Nautique de Genève team, skippered by Arthur Vallery and crewed by Hugo Beguile, Lucas Bissoli, and Arthur Glauser, took bronze.

The rest of the top five included Lewin Liatard’s Club Nautique de Pully team in fourth and Christian Hasler’s Société Nautique Rolloise team in fifth.

Despite the lack of racing, there was plenty of opportunity to enjoy the sailing league spirit ashore. On Saturday evening, the two host clubs, Yacht Club Bielersee (YCB) and the Swiss Racing Sailors (SRS), treated the teams to a very nice dinner. A big “Thank You” to both clubs and all the volunteers for hosting the event and for their patience throughout a difficult weekend for race organization.
