34.5ft J Boats 1995

Lightly used 1995 J/Boats J/105 Hull #107.  This J/105 has been on a freshwater lake in a moderate climate since it was purchased by the current owner in 2000.  The boat has been lightly used for cruising.  For the last several years the boat has not been used for owner health reasons.  

The GOOD:  Engine is low hour and runs great!  See attached video.  The interior is lightly used and will clean up nicely. Standing rigging looks to be in great shape with the mast having no kinks or bends.  The hull above the waterline and the deck were sounded out and moisture meter readings taken by an accredited surveyor.   No indications of moisture or de-lam were found around the shroud bases, foredeck, winch bases, jib & genoa tracks, cabin top rails, or in the cockpit.  These were all sounded and tested, and this J/105 does not appear to have any issues in these critical areas. 

The BAD:  Two minor areas on the port side deck less than 10 square inches each were determined to have sustained water intrusion. The water intrusion was caused by 4 holes that were accidentally poked into the deck by a “helper” not well versed on removing deck ice.  

The new owner will likely want to upgrade the running rigging, new sails, and repair the deck where the water intrusion took place.   

This is hull #107 which is a pre-scrimp boat which are regarded as the lightest and fastest J/105’s, making them highly sought after.

This will be a great J/105 for the buyer that desires to get into a pre-scrimp boat and make it great for cruising, racing, or both!  Pre-scrimp J/105’s in great condition have been bringing $75k or more.
