St. Thomas International Regatta 2026 Preview

(St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands)- St. Thomas International Regatta (STIR), first sailed in 1974, continues in its fifth decade with an exceptional program of serious world-class yacht racing that has earned it the status of the ‘Crown Jewel of Caribbean Yacht Racing’. Hosted by St. Thomas Yacht Club, the STIR is renowned for its serious racing reputation that attracts both the latest yacht designs and the hottest one-design classes, as well as the greatest skippers and crews from across the globe and the Caribbean’s hottest rock stars. In 2024, STIR celebrated its 50th anniversary. This year marks the 52nd edition with another strong fleet of five J/Teams participating.
Sailing the CSA Spin Division will be several of the contenders that just collected a lot of silverware at the BVI Spring Regatta from the previous week! Those teams include Don Nicholson’s J/121 APOLLO, Antolin Velasco’s J/105 KAIROS, and Juan Jose Mari’s J/100 FREELANCE. Joining them will be Julio Reguero’s J/105 UMAKUA and David Hensley’s J/42 TRINITY IV.
