J/Teams Join 250-Boat Fleet for Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez
(Saint Tropez, France)- At Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez, the spectacular show embraces both the water and the land. Crowds are out in force, enjoying the Indian summer gracing the famous port. The waterfront village features all the organizational structures, plus several boutiques, a bar, a stage, and a giant screen. The Village has raised its game again this year to ensure an exceptional experience for all!
The Art of Hospitality
Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez has a unique, magnetic appeal that extends to the yachting community and far beyond. In addition to the 3,500 crew members who come to the town to race and share their love of the sea through Sunday 4 October, up to 75,000 visitors also visit the “Village des Voiles” port each day!
Sunshine vibes
“The weather is key,” admits Pierre Roinson, who has participated in every edition of Les Voiles and knows only too well that the relaxed atmosphere so cherished at the event, together to get as many people sailing as possible, is dependent on the wind gods. The good news is that the outlook is favorable, with summery conditions and moderate easterly winds at the start of the week, before a spell of stormy weather expected on Wednesday or Thursday. The perfect showcase then for the majestic fleet of 253 sailboats, with the prospect of some truly sublime images in line with the tradition of Les Voiles.
More than 3,500 crew members from around the world are expected to gather for a unique spectacle: the meeting of more than 250 sailing yachts ranging from 9 to 56 meters, invited by the Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez for nine days of racing and celebration. Combining elite-level competition, elegance and conviviality, this is the only regatta to bring together Maxis, Moderns and Classic yachts in a celebration of every facet of the art of yachting. Joining this remarkable festival of sail are nearly a dozen enthusiastic, passionate J/Sailors.
