Club Nautique Morgien Wins Swiss J/70 Super League Act III in Davos

(Davos, Switzerland)- For the third act of the Swiss J/70 Super League, the fleet of sixteen teams enjoyed fourteen races over the three-day weekend of racing on the gorgeous Lake Davos. The Segel-und Surfclub Davos hosted a wonderful weekend of sailing, much to the delight of the nearly 100 sailors participating in the regatta.

Lake Davos is well-known for the shifty windy conditions, and it delivered on its reputation in spades. The team that managed those massive shifts the best was Club Nautique Morgien- Sam Kivell skipper with Louis Buxtorf, Celia Willison, and Gregoire Siegwart- winning the regatta with 41 pts. The win wasn’t easy, as only 3 points separated the entire podium.

The Segelclub Stafa team of Simon Kaiser (skipper), Ben Tresky, Carlos Biber, and Nicolasa Kubat took silver with 44 pts. Rounding out the podium for bronze with 46 pts were the perennial contenders from Regattaclub Bodensee: skipper Julian Flessati with Lea Ruegg, Stephan Ammann, and Rene Ott.

The balance of the top five included the Club Nautique de Versoix team (skipper Victor Casas) winning a 47 pts tiebreaker over Yacht Club Bielersee with skipper Damian Suri.

Swiss J/70 Super League Series
The overall rankings for the season shuffled slightly as a result of the Davos standings. The previous overall standings leader, Club Nautique de Versoix, fought hard and narrowly missed the podium, finishing 4th. Consequently, the Regattaclub Bodensee stormed into the lead, heading into the finale in three weeks.
